Spring Walking Tour - Boyle Avenue, 9:30 am -11:30 am

Meet at Mariachi Plaza (1st and Boyle Avenue) at 9:30 a.m. sharp!
 
Join us as we walk along Boyle Avenue starting at Mariachi Plaza.  We will stop at each landmark and discuss its heritage.  We will walk along Boyle Avenue to 4th Street and return to Mariachi Plaza.  Tour will end approximately at 11:30 a.m.

63rd Annual Memorial Day Observance &
24 Hour Patriotic Vigil


10:00 a.m.
3300 E. Cesar Chavez Avenue (a.k.a Cinco Puntos)

Join U.S. veterans, and family & friends of loved ones as we honor those who bravely served their country on this National Day of Observance. Several hundred persons attend the event every year to remember and pay respect to those who lost their lives in service to our nation. In addition to the May 31 ceremonies, several volunteers stand vigil throughout a 24-hour period in half-hour posts the day before (May 30) leading up to the event.

Both events are organized the American Legion Post 804 and the Veterans of Foreign This year the Veteran Community will highlight Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient, Eugene A. Obregon. For more information please contact Hector Elizalde at 323.770.3100 or Tony Zapata at 323.261.8533

Location:  Los Antojitos Resaurant, 2122 East First Street (across from Hollenbeck Station), Los Angeles, CA 90033. 323-264-4750 (Parking is available at the rear of the restaurant).  Breakfast is available for purchase.

Join Monica as she shares her experiences as an Explorer at Hollenbeck Station in the 1970s.  This lead to a life long commitment to volunteerism and community action.
